About this role
Dark Wolf Solutions builds modern software delivery systems, secure cloud architectures, and data-driven artificial intelligence solutions for national security and defense customers. The organization is offering a full-time, paid summer internship program in Omaha, Nebraska, running from June to August 2027. Participants collaborate directly within Agile squads across domains such as software development, Google Cloud delivery, data and artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
Interns actively contribute to production-level code, deploy applications to cloud environments, optimize data pipelines, and integrate generative artificial intelligence into existing workflows. Additional tracks include offensive security, risk management, and secure cloud landing zone automation. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in a technical field, possess foundational programming knowledge, and demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving skills.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and test software features using programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Assist in deploying applications to cloud environments and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery.
- Build and optimize data pipelines to ensure high-quality data availability for analysis and model training.
- Support the integration of Generative AI and large language models into existing workflows through prompt engineering and model fine-tuning.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives as an active member of an Agile squad.
- Engage in hands-on activities spanning risk management, penetration testing, and cyber engineering.
What you need
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrate foundational knowledge in at least one major programming language, with Python preferred for AI and data tracks.
- Possess strong analytical skills and a proactive approach toward tackling complex technical challenges.
- Demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Verify identity and employment eligibility to work in the United States upon hire.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
- Exposure to AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or LangChain
- Previous project work involving cloud-native architecture
