Role Overview

fal is seeking a dedicated Community Growth Manager to scale its large community of developers, creative technologists, hackers, and creators across multiple digital and physical channels. The ideal candidate will combine technical fluency with strong creative instincts to connect with frontier builders and showcase innovative generative media applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute developer relations and community initiatives across both online platforms and physical venues.
Cultivate a dedicated network of power users, creators, and hackers to test new tools and provide actionable feedback.
Manage community hubs like Discord and Reddit while organizing recurring events, workshops, webinars, hackathons, and creator competitions.
Produce hands-on technical resources including demos, example projects, prompt guides, tutorials, and walkthroughs.
Drive community-focused activations, early access programs, and challenges to support product and model launches.
Channel developer feedback directly back to internal engineering teams and model partners.
Identify, highlight, and amplify unique projects built across the fal ecosystem.
Collaborate across marketing initiatives, launches, and live programming.

Requirements

Proven background in launching and scaling a technical, creator, or developer community program, preferably within a fast-paced startup environment.
Comprehensive knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for generative media across multimodal, video, audio, and image models.
Technical capability to comfortably interact with APIs, model ecosystems, developer tools, and software engineers.
Strong creative perspective regarding what excites hackers, creative technologists, and digital creators.
Direct experience executing hackathons, workshops, webinars, meetups, and developer challenges.
Ability to independently build hands-on tutorials, prompt guides, and sample projects.
Resourceful, proactive, and scrappy working style focused on execution.
Exceptional relationship-building skills for representing the company in person and online.

Nice to Have

Existing professional network within generative AI, developer platforms, AI filmmaking, or creative technology.
Prior involvement working alongside model labs, open-source communities, or artificial intelligence startups.
Proficiency in constructing small prototypes using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or related programming tools.
