Role Overview

First Connect Insurance is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer based in Poland to take charge of building and scaling cloud and infrastructure security from scratch. This hands-on engineering role suits a professional with a builder's mindset who wants to own everything from posture management to AI security in a fully cloud-native digital marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

Secure and harden the AWS cloud estate by managing identity and access, network boundaries, encryption, and key management.
Build security into infrastructure deployments utilizing Terraform modules, Kubernetes and ECS workloads, container images, and secrets management.
Stand up and fine-tune cloud security platforms like CNAPP, CSPM, and workload protection starting from a blank slate.
Embed and automate security in delivery pipelines with SAST, SCA, secrets, and container scanning to eliminate manual security efforts.
Secure AI adoption across internal tools and product features by mapping data flows, controlling prompt injection, and threat modeling.
Act as the technical reference point for cloud security, reviewing designs and guiding R&D and DevOps teams.

Requirements

Six or more years of combined experience across cloud, infrastructure engineering, and information security.
Strong production experience securing AWS environments, including IAM, networking, encryption, and logging.
Practical production experience with Terraform and Kubernetes or ECS.
Ability to write real code in Python, TypeScript, Node, or Go, and work with APIs and CI/CD pipelines.
Professional proficiency in both English and Polish at the C1 level.
Based in Poland with availability for occasional afternoon meetings in the CET timezone.

Nice to Have

Application security experience covering pipeline-based scanning, dependency and secrets hygiene, and prioritizing common web and API vulnerability classes.
AI fluency, demonstrating practical daily use of modern AI tools and an understanding of risks like prompt injection and data leakage.
