Role Overview

Valkai is expanding its operations in New York City to scale drug and medical device development timelines. The Chief of Staff for AI Strategy will own the internal operating machinery and collaborate directly with the founders and the AI Strategy team.

Key Responsibilities

Own business operations by capturing cross-functional learnings, creating reusable playbooks, and onboarding new strategists and sellers.
Direct commercial strategy through market positioning, competitor benchmarking, pricing inputs, and materials for the commercial team.
Build go-to-market engineering layers by organizing data, automating workflows, and ensuring relevant account and usage metrics reach the right team members.
Manage revenue operations by establishing pipeline stages, tracking conversion metrics, forecasting sales, and analyzing win segments.
Maintain AI-native operations by making company knowledge accessible to internal teams and artificial intelligence systems, as well as setting internal automation approaches.
Partner with the talent team on recruitment by designing evaluation tools, establishing role criteria, and refining interview loops.
Oversee the operating cadence, planning, goal tracking, scorecards, leadership meetings, board materials, investor documentation, and founder mapping.

Requirements

Approach ambiguous problems with analytical clarity, structuring cross-functional tasks into clear execution plans.
Focus on sustainable system design that continues to improve independently over time.
Exercise self-sufficiency and organization to drive measurable impact without letting details slip.
Apply an AI-native approach by utilizing artificial intelligence tools for building automations and collaborating fluidly with product and engineering teams.
Demonstrate high judgment, low ego, and cross-functional range spanning data plumbing, strategy, recruiting, and board material preparation.

Nice to Have

Four to eight or more years of experience, combining consulting, banking, or investing with early-stage startup tenure or a top-performing professional services track.
Proven history of implementing systems like CRMs, dashboards, hiring loops, or planning cadences that teams successfully adopt.
Familiarity with spreadsheets, data tools, CRMs, applicant tracking systems, and knowledge bases.
Background in enterprise B2B software sales, with optional exposure to life sciences.
Hands-on, daily application of coding assistants like Claude Code and Codex for building solutions.
