Role Overview

The Applied AI Engineer position at Arena involves two primary focuses. Professionals in this role serve as the primary contact for artificial intelligence lab customers, helping them integrate models and run evaluations. Additionally, the role requires hands-on engineering work to build and ship platform solutions for external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain relationships with five to fifteen active model laboratory accounts as the primary point of contact.
Collaborate with research and product groups to integrate models and execute evaluations.
Manage delivery processes spanning customer onboarding, data releases, and co-launches.
Lead a key process improvement or automation initiative, such as optimizing onboarding flows or delivery tooling.
Convert customer feedback and research objectives into practical product features and engineering tasks.
Build full-stack solutions to address specific client needs.
Expand strategic partnerships through reliable execution and technical judgment.

Requirements

Four or more years of software engineering background with solid fundamentals in system design, data structures, and algorithms.
Production experience using TypeScript and modern web frameworks.
Practical experience integrating large language model provider APIs, which includes handling streaming responses.
Ability to work across both frontend and backend environments.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort working in ambiguous situations.
Communication skills suitable for explaining technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Customer-focused mindset with an interest in working alongside multiple stakeholders.
