The team owns the data foundation powering a customized nootropics brand while actively integrating artificial intelligence into internal operations and customer-facing tools. Responsibilities range from stabilizing ETL pipelines and managing Snowflake warehouses to designing multi-step AI agents that help non-technical departments scale efficiently. Success in this position requires a balance of strong foundational data engineering skills and hands-on LLM experience, combined with a preference for broad ownership over rigid task lists in a fast-paced startup environment.
What you will do
- Maintain and optimize ETL pipelines feeding the company Snowflake warehouse and Metabase reporting layer.
- Diagnose data anomalies, fix breakages, and build models, views, and dashboards for self-service reporting.
- Translate ambiguous business questions from operations, marketing, and growth into structured SQL queries and data models.
- Design and deploy AI agents and agentic workflows that reason, use tools, retrieve information, and execute multi-step tasks.
- Integrate large language models from providers like Anthropic and OpenAI into internal tooling and customer-facing products.
- Build retrieval and semantic search systems over ingredient libraries, research documentation, and customer data.
- Prototype rapidly, test with real users, and transition functional prototypes into reliable production systems.
What you need
- Demonstrated proficiency writing production SQL queries against established data warehouses.
- Hands-on background managing data pipelines and handling ETL operations.
- Practical experience utilizing business intelligence tools such as Metabase, Looker, or Tableau.
- Direct development experience with large language models covering prompting, retrieval, context management, and tool use.
- Solid foundational understanding of database design and API integration.
- Proven ability to guide projects from ambiguous business problems through prototyping to reliable production deployment.
