Role Overview

ExTrac is hiring a full-time AI Software Engineer in London to join the AI team. The position focuses on building Co-Analyst, a user-facing multi-agent system, along with associated analytical AI features, retrieval mechanics, and backend services.

Key Responsibilities

Build and improve components of the agent loop including context assembly, tool selection, and sub-agent orchestration.
Develop analytical AI features ranging from network construction to summaries.
Run experiments against live analyst traffic behind feature flags to measure improvements.
Work with embeddings for retrieval, network construction, and community detection within a model-agnostic design.
Take well-defined problems and ship production-ready features using Python and Go.
Build and maintain internal and customer-facing APIs.
Operate long-running streaming pipelines and handle caching and recovery behavior.
Partner with the machine learning team to transition research concepts into production.

Requirements

Eligible to obtain UK security clearance and be a national of a NATO member state, Australia, or New Zealand.
2+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated ability to build and ship production-grade services.
Experience owning features or components end to end within a larger system.
Proficiency in building services using Python and Go.
