Role Overview

The AI Security & Platform Engineer position at Metaforms involves hands-on technical work to secure AI agents and underlying infrastructure. The person in this role tests systems adversarially, identifies vulnerabilities, and collaborates with engineers to build platform-level controls, automated evaluations, and monitoring infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Adversarially test AI agents for prompt injection, context poisoning, unsafe tool use, data leakage, memory manipulation, and unintended behavior.
Review customer-facing applications and APIs for authentication, authorization, tenant-isolation, injection, and business-logic vulnerabilities.
Build and improve the secure, reliable infrastructure behind model calls and agent workflows, including hardening cloud permissions, service identities, and CI/CD pipelines.
Work directly with engineers to implement production-ready fixes, regression tests, and secure patterns for input handling and data access.

Requirements

Two to three years of hands-on experience across AI engineering, backend or platform engineering, application security, infrastructure security, DevSecOps, or a related role.
Practical experience building, operating, or securing production AI systems using LLM APIs, agents, tool calling, RAG, or model gateways.
Strong programming ability in Python, TypeScript, Go, or another relevant language.
Understanding of common web and API security risks, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, and monitoring.

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience with AI red teaming, adversarial model testing, prompt injection, and agent sandboxing.
Experience securing multi-tenant B2B SaaS products and working with OAuth, webhooks, file processing, and MCP.
Background in building security test harnesses, fuzzers, automated evaluations, or internal security tools.
Familiarity with SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, model gateways, AI observability, or compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
Participation in bug bounties, CTFs, security research, or relevant open-source projects.
