About this role

This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives on rapid learning, taking ownership of projects, and pushing beyond established limits. The AI-Native Software Engineer, Cloud (AWS) will contribute to a security engineering team focused on creating tools that detect, reduce, and report on security risks across a large technology organization's infrastructure. The core of this position involves architecting scalable, always-on platforms while simultaneously modernizing existing monolithic systems to align with modern security and development standards. This engineer will operate within an AI-native, specification-driven workflow, requiring a blend of deep cloud infrastructure knowledge and an understanding of how AI can influence the development lifecycle.

The successful candidate will work directly with leadership to define and implement agile development plans for security tooling. A significant part of the work involves prototyping and evolving security capabilities to keep pace with AI-driven software development trends. Furthermore, the role demands a critical eye for evaluating designs, including outputs from AI-generated code, to proactively identify potential security vulnerabilities before deployment. This position exists to ensure enterprise customers receive industry-leading security tooling built on robust, scalable cloud foundations.

What you will do

  • Architect and build always-on API platforms that are designed to scale to enterprise demand.
  • Modernize legacy applications and monolithic architectures to satisfy current development and security requirements.
  • Prototype and evolve security capabilities to keep pace with advancements in AI-driven software development.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to define and execute agile development plans.
  • Develop, test, deploy, and support production-grade security tooling and services.
  • Evaluate designs critically, including AI-generated code, to catch security gaps and architectural weaknesses prior to production.

What you need

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Demonstrated fluency in applying AI technologies across the software development lifecycle, including using AI for breaking down user stories, AI-assisted coding and testing, and automated defect resolution.
  • Deep, hands-on experience building and deploying production systems on AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
  • Proficiency in server-side development using languages like Python, Java, or NodeJS.
  • Experience with client-side web development using React, Backbone, native JavaScript, or comparable technologies.
  • Expertise in building secure, large-scale systems utilizing fault-tolerant technologies such as Elasticsearch, CockroachDB, Oracle, MongoDB, and Kafka.

Nice to have

  • AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer)
  • CISSP
  • CCSP

Benefits
