About this role
The day-to-day work for the AI-Native Engineer involves shipping production code in the initial weeks, taking full ownership of features from design through deployment and metric tracking. Engineers will leverage AI across their workflow for coding, debugging, testing, and research, aiming to advance how the team utilizes AI tools. A key aspect of the role is collaborating closely with Product, Design, and senior engineers, emphasizing proactive problem-solving and deep domain learning within the complex B2B fintech landscape of Latin America.
This role exists to contribute directly to Clara's mission of building the financial infrastructure that enables organizations across the region to operate with agility and financial clarity. The work involves tackling the inherent complexity of B2B fintech in LatAm, which includes navigating multiple countries and regulatory environments. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, possesses strong technical fundamentals, and demonstrates an ability to apply AI concepts practically, not just theoretically. A self-starter who takes ownership and asks insightful questions early is highly valued in this environment.
What you will do
- Ship production code for real features, involving the entire lifecycle from design to deployment.
- Own features end-to-end, including design, building, testing, deploying, and monitoring performance metrics.
- Utilize AI tools across the workflow for tasks such as coding assistance, debugging, testing, and research.
- Push the boundaries of how the team integrates AI into their development processes.
- Work directly with Product, Design, and senior engineers to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Deeply learn the domain of B2B fintech in Latin America to build effective solutions.
What you need
- A strong technical foundation is required, demonstrated through a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar field.
- Candidates must show evidence of building functional projects, such as a deployed application, a public GitHub repository, or open-source contributions.
- The role requires proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and systems thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI concepts practically, such as building agents, RAG systems, or automation tools.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and systems thinking are necessary.
- English proficiency is mandatory as it is the corporate language for daily technical discussions.
- A trait of ownership, where the engineer surfaces problems proactively and drives tasks to completion without constant direction.
