Role Overview

As a hands-on technical leader, the AI/ML Engineering Lead manages the journey of models from initial experimentation to governed production environments. Operating within the Voyager product pod, which spans Life, Annuities, and Employee Benefits, this professional establishes engineering standards for the machine learning lifecycle. The position requires close collaboration with product managers, data engineers, and Model Risk partners to ensure that all deployed solutions adhere to rigorous regulatory requirements for a life insurer.

Key Responsibilities

Own the complete pathway from experimentation to governed production for machine learning and generative AI applications.
Set engineering standards and best practices for the entire machine learning lifecycle.
Mentor and guide data and machine learning engineers on the team.
Personally deliver critical technical components of AI and machine learning projects.
Oversee the reliability, ongoing monitoring, comprehensive documentation, fairness, and explainability of all deployed models.

Requirements

Experience operating within structured software product teams or similar outcome-oriented environments.
Background in developing and delivering machine learning or generative AI solutions into production.
Ability to partner with risk, product, and data engineering teams in a regulated industry context.
