Role Overview

TextYess is seeking an AI Engineer to join its remote team based in Europe on a full-time basis. This opportunity suits professionals with a background in software development who want to build proactive artificial intelligence agents and shape the future of commerce.

Key Responsibilities

Resolve grounding challenges by tackling retrieval, prompting, and evaluation simultaneously to ensure accurate product availability data.
Combine semantic search and exact matching into a unified ranking system that handles SKUs, sizes, and specific variants effectively.
Maintain high multilingual quality across languages such as Italian and English.
Profile requests, test prompt and model changes, and ship improvements to optimize latency and operational costs.
Build evaluation harnesses using golden datasets and Langfuse traces to catch production issues early.
Develop ranking, scoring, and suppression logic so proactive insights interrupt customers only when necessary.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of professional software shipping experience, including at least one production-grade LLM feature, chatbot, RAG system, or agent used by real users.
Practical understanding of RAG behaviors, including embeddings, vector search, chunking, and reranking.
Ability to read traces from tools like Langfuse, LangSmith, Braintrust, Arize, or Humanloop to diagnose issues.
Strong Python and backend development fundamentals with a focus on measuring latency, cost, and quality.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with search infrastructure tools including Elastic, Algolia, Qdrant, and Weaviate.
Experience with fine-tuning and graph search.
Understanding of e-commerce operations.
