AI Agent Engineer
About this role
Configuring integrations, designing prompts and workflows, and deploying scalable AI agents forms the core of daily responsibilities in this client-facing position at Observe.AI. This team builds customer experience AI agent platforms that handle conversations and support frontline staff for major brands. Practitioners in this delivery-focused job own the complete lifecycle of enterprise Voice and Chat AI agents, working closely with buyers to translate technical needs into functional production setups rather than constructing foundational models from scratch.
Success in the organization requires managing customer relationships alongside technical execution, spanning API integrations, telephony routing, and system troubleshooting. Ideal candidates bring experience in conversational AI and a consultative mindset to guide implementations while bridging product gaps with engineering teams.
What you will do
- Own the end-to-end implementation of voice and chat AI agents, covering prompt design, workflow configuration, and evaluation frameworks.
- Act as the primary technical partner for clients by leading project demos, gathering feedback, and guiding solutions from concept to production.
- Configure and connect enterprise tools using APIs, handling authentication, data mapping, and integrations with CRMs and knowledge bases.
- Set up telephony infrastructure including SIP, CCaaS, and PSTN routing while configuring fallbacks and troubleshooting call quality.
- Write and refine prompts for LLM-driven agents to monitor performance and meet specific automation targets.
- Collaborate cross-functional with engineering teams to escalate platform gaps and resolve technical roadblocks.
What you need
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Bring one to five years of experience in conversational AI, solution engineering, or system integration.
- Demonstrate hands-on delivery of AI and LLM-based applications within customer environments.
- Possess strong communication skills to lead customer-facing discussions and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Show hands-on proficiency in prompt design, workflow building, and API integration tools such as Twilio, Amazon Connect, or SIP.
- Maintain familiarity with Large Language Models, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation concepts.
- Demonstrate programming experience in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for scripting and integrations.
Nice to have
- Experience with integration tools and Integration Platform-as-a-Service providers like n8n or Zapier
- Familiarity with telephony or voice systems including SIP, CCaaS, and PSTN
