GovWell

GovWell builds an AI operating system and platform designed for municipal and county governments to deliver better services, work smarter, and build public trust. The company serves local government agencies across more than 40 states, providing digital tools that handle permitting, licensing, planning and zoning, and code enforcement. Its technology is used by public servants to streamline complex administrative processes, catch submission errors, and automate routine tasks to reduce legacy software processing times by up to 95 percent.

In its work involving artificial intelligence and machine learning, GovWell deploys production AI tools such as AI AutoCheck, which reviews permit applications against local building codes, and an AI Community Assistant that answers resident and staff questions. The company's platform replaces outdated software to help communities manage public services online 24/7, ranging from building permits to inspection scheduling and license renewals.

Open roles at GovWell indicate that the company is actively building out its core product and engineering teams with positions such as Founding Product Designer and AI Product Engineer. These roles are based out of the company headquarters in New York City, with the job listings noting a hybrid work culture that requires regular in-person collaboration alongside flexibility to work remotely.
